SUMMARY:Community Meeting on Amendments to the Zoning Regulation
DESCRIPTION:Tsawwassen First Nation Executive Council has directed administration to proceed with the consultation process in accordance with the Land Use Planning and Development Act requirements prior to considering approval of the proposed Zoning Regulation amendments\nas listed below. \nThe purpose of the proposed amendments is to allow for single family development with a slightly higher density cap in the SF2 – Single Family without Lane (330m²) Residential zone. \nThe proposed amendments to the TFN Zoning Regulation include the following: \n1. Section 3.1 is amended by replacing the definition of Floor Space with the following:\nFLOOR SPACE – means the sum of the horizontal area of each floor of a building contained within the outside surface of its walls\, excluding crawl spaces.\n2. The SF2 Zone Regulations are amended by: \n\nReplacing “40%*” with “45%” in Section 4 and deleting the end note for 45% parcel coverage in its entirety;\nReplacing the Maximum Parcel Density of “0.6 (FSR)” with “0.75 (FSR)”\n\nREQUEST FOR WRITTEN COMMENTS\nTsawwassen First Nation is requesting written comments from affected land holders\, the advisory council and Tsawwassen members on the proposed amendments per Sections 41\, 42 and 43 of the Land Use Planning and Development Act. DESCRIPTION:Youth aged Grade 5 and up and community members are all welcome! \nOur guest this evening is Sierra Tasi Baker\, an award-winning Squamish Nation\, Musqueam\, Kwakwaka’wakw\, Tlingit\, Haida & Hungarian designer\, consultant\, entrepreneur\, artist\, storyteller and choreographer. \nSierra is a trained dancer of 10 years\, studying ballet\, jazz\, theatre\, contemporary and hip hop. Sierra started performing with fire in 2013\, combining her knowledge of dance with the addition of fire and evolving into the spectacular artist that she is today. Sierra has her Master’s in Sustainable Urbanism\, and a bachelor’s in environmental design. Sierra adopts the roll of web and graphics designer as well as being one of the primary performers and founding members of AcroFire Entertainment. \nSierra has worked extensively with museums\, universities\, municipalities\, and businesses to further reconciliation and develop meaningful consultation through design. Her research and body of work has focused on developing indigenous design methods\, respectful indigenous consultation\, sustainable community planning\, and urban policy.
