DESCRIPTION:Members and their families are invited to join in the celebration for the 13th anniversary of the Treaty Effective Date! \nLocation: TFN Sports Field and Youth Centre \n\n11:30 AM Opening and Drum Circle: We encourage you to bring your drum and join us in a song to honour the children who have recently been uncovered across Turtle Island.  Following our drumming circle will be a prayer by TFN Respected Elder Ruth Adams.\n12:00 PM BBQ Lunch provided by DPD\n1:00 PM Youth Centre Open House: See Live Demos of what Youth are working on!\n2:00 PM Ball Hockey Game with DPD:  As part of the celebration\, DPD challenges the youth of TFN to a ball hockey game at the Sports Field lacrosse box!\n\nThere will also be SWAG giveaways and a CRAFT FAIR happening 11:30 – 3:00PM! SUMMARY:Chieftain Blanketing Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Tsawwassen First Nation will be honouring Chief Ken Baird with a Chieftain Blanketing Ceremony on Thursday April 7th\, 2022. TFN will also be honouring members of Executive Council and Legislature with commercialized versions of his blanket. \nUnfortunately\, because we are still living in unprecedented times and to protect those that are immunocompromised\, we ask that this remain a small ceremony with those being blanketed and cultural workers in attendance only. \nThe ceremony will be livestreamed\, as per the Chief’s wishes\, so that Tsawwassen Members and community are able to witness this important ceremony.
