Happy Holidays to all Tsawwassen families, staff, partners, and residents!
We would like to thank Creator for guiding our community through the past year. 2022 was a challenging year for TFN, as we experienced many community losses and have faced many changes. And while we mourn our losses, we also want to celebrate the good things that have taken place this year. We have made significant progress on a number of key initiatives for the community – a new Elders Centre is well underway, as well as the 36-unit development that will create much-needed housing for our Members and their families to move to Tsawwassen Lands. The renovation of the playground on Falcon Way was completed. We are grateful that we have been able to gather in person with our families, friends and neighbours for the first time in two years at community events such as Indigenous People’s Day and our annual Members Gathering. We had a very successful first year with ćelisələm, our community farm initiative, to enhance local food security by bringing fresh produce to community members. We also welcomed new staff members to our growing Tsawwassen Government, and new residents to our leasehold areas in our growing community. As we look forward to 2023, we are excited to see the results of all our hard work, and for the work that is to come that will bring positive change and growth to our community.
We also recognize that for some, the holiday season can be a difficult time of year. For those Members who may be struggling, please know that we are here to support you, and we encourage you to reach out to our Health and Social Services staff for assistance.
To our Tsawwassen Government staff – we are grateful to you for your service to the community. To all the residents of Tsawwassen Lands – we welcome you and look forward to making this place a wonderful home for all. To our Tsawwassen people – we celebrate your strength and resilience, your support and love for the community and each other. We have faced many challenges and we will continue to grow and thrive as we always have, together.
Wishing everyone holidays filled with joy, laughter, and love!
