Public Works

Public Works staff are responsible for ensuring the community is a safe, clean, and hospitable place to live, and that it has appropriate and reliable infrastructure in place. You should contact our Public Works department if you have questions or concerns about any of the following:

  • Public safety, including road maintenance, street lighting, and snow removal
  • Garbage and recycling collection – download/print the Residential Garbage and Recycling Information Guide
  • Grounds and lawn maintenance, including drainage ditches, fire hydrants, vehicles and other equipment
  • Community and staff event set up, clean up and security
  • Operation of the TFN Sewage treatment plant

Grounds Maintenance & Snow Removal Program

This program supports Tsawwassen Elders — and Members with health limitations — to live safely and comfortably at home by helping with grounds maintenance and snow removal within the TFN Community Area.

Services Included:
Grounds Maintenance
-Grass cutting
-Minor landscaping for safety and aging in place
-Delivered by TFN or by an outside provider (with reimbursement)

Snow Removal
-Provided only by TFN or TFN’s contractor
-No reimbursement for private snow removal service

Who can apply?

Elders
• TFN Members 55+ living in their primary
residence on TFN Lands.
• Eligible for up to $2,500/year in grounds
maintenance support (per residence).
• Snow removal is automatically provided by TFN
after 5 cm of snowfall.

Non‑Elders (Exceptional Circumstances)
• Members with health limitations preventing
them from doing yard work may apply.
• Must show they cannot complete the work
themselves.
Not Eligible
• Major landscaping, renovations, or minor
home repairs
• (these fall under other TFN programs).
• Cleaning or removal of personal items (toys,
vehicles, pools, waste, animal feces).
• Any service the Director deems ineligible.
