Policies

Policies Overview

A policy can be defined as a documented set of broad guidelines and principles that guide decisions of government, and which are implemented in order to achieve certain outcomes. Policies are developed based on an analysis of various internal and external factors, including existing legislation, policies of other governments, accepted best practices, and Tsawwassen Government’s vision and mandate. Policies can direct and restrict the plans, decisions, and actions of Tsawwassen Government; policies can also dictate Tsawwassen Government’s response to various situations and circumstances that may arise. TFN’s policies can be grouped into 3 distinct categories: Corporate Policies, Governance Policies, and Member Benefits Policies.

.
Administrative Policies

These policies are established to align government operations and activities across the various administrative departments. They seek to establish certain expectations for staff, and outline certain roles and responsibilities in terms of program/service delivery.

.
Governance Policies

Policies in this area support and frame decision-making for elected leaders and TFN’s various Public Institutions.
