TFN is introducing the Həlel̓əm Collective, a new arms-length housing authority created to ensure every Member has access to safe, stable, and culturally grounded housing.
Həlel̓əm means houses or housing in hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓. The name reflects a commitment to homes that lift one another up, restore balance, and support healing and belonging.
The Collective was created to respond to growing housing needs and to manage TFN homes fairly, consistently, and transparently. Housing is more than shelter—it is the foundation for strong families, community wellbeing, and future prosperity.
What the Həlel̓əm Collective Does
- Manages TFN’s housing portfolio, including maintenance, tenancy services, and rental agreements
- Supports tenants with a Member-first approach
- Plans and develops future housing, including affordable, mixed-income, and market homes
What This Is — and What It Is Not
- This is not a change to Member or Treaty rights
- Existing housing approaches and rent-setting practices remain in place
- The Collective improves how housing is managed, not who it is for
Looking Ahead
By building a mix of housing types, TFN can generate long-term revenue that is reinvested back into Member housing and other community priorities, ensuring housing grows with our community for generations.
More information is now available on the Həlel̓əm Collective webpage, with additional updates coming when the full website launches next week.
