Road Closure/Checkpoint FAQs
“Good evening everyone,
Before I begin, I’d like to thank the Creator for another beautiful day on Mother Earth, and again, for the strength within our community during this time.
As you all know, we take all your concerns about public health and safety very seriously. In response, a checkpoint is being set up tomorrow morning on Blue Heron Way near Swan Road. The check point will be monitored 24/7 and pedestrians and vehicles will be limited to Tsawwassen Members, staff, and essential services.
However, we are embracing a “soft launch” approach and want to reassure members and residents that we are not restricting the following:
- Member residents who live in the Area
- Members visiting family
- Non Member family members
- TFN employees attending temporarily to their offices as most of them work from home
- Crews that work on Construction sites like the new Youth Centre and other construction sites
- Delivery for food or other deliveries to both Lands office or Administration office
- Businesses coming to pay or get their business licences, permits
- People coming to get their dog licences
- Police personnel
- Food deliveries
- Buses
- People from other outside government agencies coming to TFN offices for appointment
- Contractors working on home renovations for Members
- Anyone that is a guest of Members as long as they provide a name
This soft approach will allow us to gather feedback from the community and report back to Executive Council. We will also collect frequently asked questions to publish anonymously on our TFN website.
We hear you as Members and residents, and we ask for your kindness, patience and respect as we try to work together in keeping our community safe.
Members, please send your questions to communications@tsawwassenfirstnation.com.
Leaseholders, please contact residents@tsawwassenfirstnation.com.
hay čxʷ q̓ə, all my relations.”
