A Video Message from Chief Ken Baird

A Video Message from Chief Ken Baird regarding the speedy recovery and excellent response to the confirmed COVID-19 case within the Tsawwassen First Nation community. Chief also talks about the partial opening of community parks.

Chief Ken Baird: “Good afternoon everyone,
Before I begin, I’d like to thank the Creator for another beautiful day on Mother Earth, and for the continued strength and understanding within our community.
Thanks to the swift actions of the family, the positive COVID case in the community was successfully isolated and no further spread has been recorded. The community did a great job of supporting each other and helping the family be safe. We are so proud of everyone, keeping up with the protocols, social distancing, keeping to your bubbles, and washing your hands.
Feel free to reach out to Katie Alexander, the Manager of Health and Social Services, if you have any questions or concerns at 604-833-2507.
We’d also like to update everyone on the current situation with Community parks. Executive Council has decided to partially open the following parks:
• the Sports Field
• Osprey Park
• Presentation Park
• Falcon Way Park and
• the Youth Centre Skate Park
Parks will not be fully opened until the community fully re-opens and we reach the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Until then, park pathways and grass areas are open for use. However, park equipment (such as basketball hoops, playgrounds and lacrosse boxes) will be taped off.
Regarding the TFN Checkpoint and other concerns, Members can please send their questions and comments to communications@tsawwassenfirstnation.com.
Leaseholders, please contact residents@tsawwassenfirstnation.com.
Members can also reach Executive Council directly by emailing ecmailbox@tsawwassenfirstnation.com
We welcome your feedback and want to hear from you.
Again, a very big thank you to everyone in our community for coming this far during such a difficult time.
Please continue to stay safe everyone. We are all in this together. hay čxʷ q̓ə, all my relations.”
