An Update from the Tsawwassen First Nation Government

An Update from the Tsawwassen First Nation Government:
TFN administration has authorised a temporary minor relocation of the barricades on Tsawwassen Drive at Highway 17. This was requested so that the long stay car park can open for the long weekend only. The business has agreed to move the barricades only as far as needed to permit access, so the residential area will still be protected. The relocation will be from Friday morning to Tuesday morning only.

This temporary measure is consistent with the safety orders made by Executive Council.

The TFN strategic plan includes the important goal of supporting member-owned businesses, such as this one. The drop in ferry traffic due to the pandemic has been hard on this business, and this busy weekend will give them a chance to recoup some of their losses.
After careful consideration, TFN administration concluded that this small accommodation represented the best balance of two important TFN values: maintaining our strong health and safety protocols and supporting member-owned businesses.
