Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) is inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals to serve as External Directors on the Board of the Həleləm Collective.
The Həleləm Collective is a non-profit organization committed to building culturally aligned, sustainable housing solutions for TFN members. Rooted in TFN’s values of sovereignty, self-determination, and land stewardship, the Collective is guided by a Board that centers community leadership and decolonized governance.
We are currently seeking subject matter experts in real estate development, property or asset management, or housing finance to help shape TFN’s housing future.
About the Role
As an External Director, you will:

Provide strategic and technical guidance on real estate, property/asset management, or housing finance.

Ensure your advice aligns with TFN’s cultural values and long-term vision.

Participate in Board meetings and community housing discussions.

Foster trust through meaningful community engagement.
Term & Compensation

Term: Three years (renewable for up to three terms)

Annual Stipend: $7,500

Meeting Per Diem: $500/day or $250/half-day

Expenses: Reimbursed for reasonable costs

Reporting To: Chair of the Board

Appointment By: TFN Executive Council
Who We’re Looking For
-
Demonstrated expertise in real estate, property/asset management, or housing finance.

Experience working with Indigenous communities, particularly Coast Salish Nations, is a strong asset.

A commitment to culturally sensitive, community-centered decision-making.

Willingness to learn and honour TFN traditions and perspectives.
