Aboriginal Veterans Day

November 8, 2019, National Aboriginal Veterans Day is a Memorial Day observed in Canada in recognition of aboriginal contributions to military service, particularly in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. TFN is invited every year to be a part of the host territory representation, along with Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil Waututh, and Union of BC Indian Chiefs to lead the Honour March for the Aboriginal Veterans Day event in Vancouver. The starting point is at Carnegie Hall (401 Main St. Gym 3rd floor) – marching to Victory Square (Cambie & E. Hastings St.) – and commencing with lunch at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre (1607 E. Hastings St.)
9:00 am Carnegie Hall doors open
9: 15 am Welcome: Musqueam Elder, City of Vancouver Representative
9:30 am Veteran Pipe Ceremony
10:15 am: Order of March…march to Cenotaph

MC: Musqueam Speaker & Guest – Veterans Wreath Lay Ceremony
11:11 MOMENT OF SILENCE ….Bugle. End of Cenotaph ceremony around 12:00
