TFN subcontracts the control of mosquitoes to a Joint Venture company, Matcon Civil. Since May, Matcon has been out and about testing and treating still and standing water for mosquito larva throughout TFN Lands.
Mosquitoes only require a few inches of still, standing water to reproduce. Please check your home and property carefully, and drain all standing water from items such as:
- Stored Tires
- Children’s Toys
- Fish Totes
- Bird Baths
- Tarps
- Buckets
If you can’t drain the water, can you cover it up? This will help prevent mosquito breeding.
Did you know that with a top speed of 2.5 km/h, mosquitoes are neither fast nor strong fliers. Regular household fans can be used to keep mosquitoes away from you, reducing the need to use personal insecticides.
