About the 2025/26 k̓ʷəcstalxʷ tə telə (Budget) Tsawwassen Law requires the approval of the annual kʷəcstalxʷ tə telə (budget) by the Tsawwassen Legislature, on or before March 15th each year. TFN’s fiscal year is April 1st of one year to March 31st of the following year.
Kʷəcstalxʷ tə telə development begins with a priority setting session with Executive Council and Legislature. Staff then develop a draft, followed by an extensive review by the Finance and Audit Committee, and approval by Executive Council. Once approved by Executive Council, the kʷəcstalxʷ tə telə is reviewed and debated by Legislature, who also hear a report from Advisory Council, before voting to pass into law as the Appropriations Act. The kʷəcstalxʷ tə telə supports the vision set out in the xʷəliw̓ ənstəxʷ kʷθə syə́w̓ én̓ əł ct (Honouring Our Ancestors) Charter and the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.
