Executive Council would like to announce that on Thursday August 11th, Councillor Chemkwaat (Valerie Cross) was appointed Acting Chief. She will serve in this role for the remainder of the current term, which will end ten days after the General Election on October 15th. During this period Executive Council members will be working together to support Councillor Cross and to share some of the responsibilities of the office of Chief, including representing Tsawwassen First Nation at the regional, provincial and national level. Our hands go up to Councillor Cross and the other members of Executive Council for jointly accepting this role to serve and support the community during this challenging time.
With Councillor Cross’ transition to Acting Chief, there is a vacancy on Executive Council. Council will work with Legislators to fill this vacancy, and an update will be sent out when the vacancy has been filled.
